Thus far, I have only used it for running, but it definitely does the job. I plan on biking with it on and any other cardio-based exercises in the future to make sure I’m not working too heavily or lightly.
The heart monitor chest strap works great for me. Once adjusted correctly, I can’t feel it while I’m running and it isn’t noticeable, even under a thin shirt.
The watch looks cool and isn’t heavy or restraining, so I have no problem wearing it anytime (and trust me, I have never been a watch person). I have worn it while running across my college campus in the pouring rain and I was comforted that I could check the time without grabbing my cell phone and giving it water damage.
All in all, a great product and exactly what I needed and wanted.

I purchased this heart rate monitor to offer more metric points than my Sigma PC15 offered. Most importantly this monitor is capable of tracking the average heart rate over a given interval. I use it to monitor my speed work and interval training and to track my recovery times to give me a heads up of any potential over training.
The quality of this product is excellent and I would recommend anyone who wants a serious non-GPS heart rate monitor to purchase one. I use it in areas that my old HRM would lose signal due to interference without a single glitch yet.

I agreee with the comments from the other raters, and I generally like the watch except for 2 other important criticisms.
First, it’s annoying that the out-of-zone heart rate warning can’t be turned on or off easily, especially during a run. To turn the alarm on, you have to push the buttons 23 times to get to this option – I’m not joking – I counted. It’s 6 pushes to get to HRM Set Up from the start screen; 1 push on Set; then 15 pushes to cycle through to HR ZONE ALERT on-off option toggle; 1 push to enable! You need to do this 23 push tango to enable and to disable the alert. Try to do this while running to understand annoying. If you just leave the alert on, the watch will beep anytime you’re exercising out of zone. My old watch had a 1-press on/off alert. Timex messed this up big-time.
The second quibble is that the monitor does not report accurately at the start of a run. It does seem correct when I just put the monitor on my chest; however, I get too-high readings (115% max heart rate, e.g,) until about 5-10 minutes into the run. I’d say it’s because that’s how long it takes for the contact/sweat to give good readings, but if that’s the reason, why the correct readings right away?
If anyone has solutions/explanations for me, please report them in another comment.

It’s very easy to use. If you just want to see and monitor your heart bit rate, without any alarm, limit etc, this things is very simple to use.
Going further takes some reading of the manual; setting of zone 1-5, or manual limit, alarm, weigh etc.
Wearing this does improve your work out in terms of;
- you can pace your work out more methodically
- you have measurable target for your work out
- barring some hiccups (mentioned below), you can review your work out
- the above normally can be done on tread mill machine only. you get benefit of “measures” tread mill while doing your work out on the read
- overall this gives better motivation on each of your work out.
Draw back;
. This in spite of sensor properly moisturized and sweat. After a while the bpm count will come back to where it should.
- I learnt that once in a while during the exercise, communication between sensor and the watch got disconnected. The low limit alarm buzzed off bpm <90 in the midst of my heavy workout (or else I must have been dead
- hence when this happens the “review” mode will not reflect the actual work out.
- label prints on the watch is too small. you have to read manual to guess what’s printed there.

It’s a great monitor, detects the heart rate fast and easy, and works smooth easy to handle, the watch fits great on the wirst, you can barely feel it.
I recommend this product, I’m very happy with it.
